Playa Gallery doesn't have a mission, but it is ambitious. Playa Gallery is adept at mechanical skills, and comfortable in its bones. Playa Gallery always thinks of the other person in the conversation. Sometimes Playa Gallery is caught daydreaming.
Ron Peyton, owner and hairstylist, first conceived of this Art Gallery and Hair Salon after having visited the Burning Man art festival in Nevada Black Rock Desert. At Burning Man all are encouraged to participate rather than observing. This philosophy embraces art as everything, everything as art. The hard packed desert floor where Burning Man is held is made of alkali dust and is affectionately called The Playa. At Burning Man the playa is pervasive. It is part of the artwork, language, weather and everything else there. In this spirit Playa Gallery and Hair Salon was conceived. Art is everything, everything is art: hair styles, painting, sculpture, design, graphics, furniture, all media, all styles, all philosophies are embraced here.
